How do you feel we performed on the inspection we recently completed for you?
Today my wife and I met with John Nelson, one of the company's franchise owners. First of all, he was prompt. Our meeting was at 8:00am, he was there at 7:50am. He greeted us and ask if it was alright if we did the walk through. John was very knowledgeable and thorough as he explained what he found and annotated it. He also took pictures. His explanations were clear and concise. He took his time to ensure that we were informed of things that required immediate attention as well as things that may be problematic in the future. John was very personable, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a courteous, professional, thorough person/company to do an assessment of their property! Thanks John for a great experience. we look forward to working with you again during our next inspection!

How do you feel we performed on the inspection we recently completed for you?
Alexandria, VA 6/30/2011 Excellent service, extremely thorough, and very knowledgeable! I was very impressed by John Nelson, the owner, and his professionalism. I selected John because he has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau _AND_ he charges significantly less than other inspectors. I also liked that John performs radon inspections but does not offer mitigation services, which means he has no conflict of interest (i.e., some inspectors claim your radon levels are high and then try to sell their radon mitigation services to you). Most importantly, John has over 15+ years of experience as a general contractor and has inspected thousands of homes. John arrived 30 minutes early to inspect the exterior of the house, including the roof, porch, and windows. John inspected the house for 3 hours and found numerous hidden issues, including several major ones that I will definitely be raising with the seller. One of the issues involved insufficient insulation in the walls and roof, which he detected using an infrared scanner -- this is technology that many home inspectors do not have. Bottom line, I cannot recommend John highly enough. My realtor was also impressed and mentioned that he will be contacting John in the future. Btw, National Property Inspections is a franchised operation, so each inspector runs their own business. John is located in Manassas but was willing to drive out to Arlington for our home inspection.

Not only does John inspect thoroughly, he encourages buyers to participate in the home inspection by introducing them to all of their systems and features in the home. My buyers walk away not only with a "health" report, but knowledge on maintaining and using their fixtures and features of their new home, from air humidifiers to windows, John shares his helpful hints. How do you feel we performed on the inspection we recently completed for you?
I've owned several homes since 1981 in four different states, and I can say without reservation that your inspection was the most thorough inspection I've ever had in preparation for purchasing a home - hands down. From the crawl space to the attic and the roof - you covered every square inch of the place humanly accessible! You easily saved me a couple thousand dollars in repairs that were necessary, and some were not at all obvious to the untrained eye. And given how extensive your inspection was, coupled to your knowledge of local codes, statutes and product quality issues/recalls, the sellers agreed to EVERYTHING on our contingency sheet to have re paired or replaced. Beyond that, I'm now walking in to a house with an extensive report on what needs doing to get it in tip-top shape, beyond those seller financed repairs - my 'To-Do' list if you will. I'll also add that your Infrared diagnostic tool is an outstanding add to your normal tool compliment. Being a bit of a 'gadget guy,' I wasn't sure what benefit the IR capability would be for a house. But after seeing how precise it is, detecting insulation behind the walls that had fallen away from the wall on the inside, cold spots by windows needing attention, and even when the heating system cam on thru the vents, I'm sold. So you have my thanks John - I'm walking into the most expensive purchase of my life, but doing it with MUCH greater confidence that we discovered everything that needed fixing or repairing. That's a good feeling. I've already recommended you to one of my friends looking to sell and buy in the area. Hope this helps - you deserve it.
